• 1997 Master of Science in Chemical Physics and Theoretical Chemistry at Department of Chemistry,     Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ” Sofia, Bulgaria.
• 2002 PhD at the Institute of Organic Chemistry with Centrum of Phytochemistry (IOCCP), Bulgarian     Academy of Sciences.
• 2003 Research Associate at IOCCP.

 

Expertise

• Application of UV-VIS absorption and luminescent spectroscopy for steady state and dynamic photophysical investigations of media effect and fluorescent ability of organic compounds containing heteroatom: acridanones, benzoxazoles, benzothiazoles, cyanostilbenes, imidazolones, triazoles.
Transient absorption study of intra- and intermolecular fluorescence quenching in pyridylindoles and pyridylbenzoindoles.
DFT quantum-chemical calculations (Turbomole 5.8)

Current Research

Photophysical and photochemical characterization of heteroaromatic organic compounds and dyes with desired properties for application in nanotechnology and in information and communication technologies, namely as fluorescent laser dyes, fluorescent markers for biopolymers and nanoparticles of different nature and size, OLEDs, etc.
